Yaye Pack - and other good stuff

Preparing for the Superbowl
Hi! This week brought lots of excitement to our house.  We prepared for the Superbowl this past weekend.  It was a great party, and Ryan woke up from his nap to find 30+ people in his house! He enjoyed the company and placing green & gold beads in his mouth. (We were wearing "mardi gras" necklaces at the party).  Despite all the company and cheering, Ry went to sleep pretty well.  Speaking of celebration, I have to include this cute, quick clip of Ryan's Daddy after the Superbowl.  (Note: We are really going to Disney in April...so this is funny):

Other big news:  Ryan pulled himself from seated to his knees on Superbowl Sunday and then he pulled himself to stand the next day.  He did this in his crib. I often sit Ryan  in his crib to play while I am putting his clothes away or if we have a few minutes before naptime, and he is not quite sleepy.  On Monday, I placed him in his crib, and I heard some major squealing when I left to get a few things before placing him fully down to sleep. When I came back, he was standing.  He was soooo very proud of himself.  I ran back out to get the camera for an interview.  Here it is:

Then on Tuesday, Ryan was on the floor in his play area. He was on his belly scooting around on his tummy. I was typing an email.  I had my eye on him, but I must admit was engrossed in my email.  I WAS listening to him chatter, and I didn't notice any change in the noise level to indicate something big was going on.  Then I look over, and at some point, he pulled himself to sitting!! Wow, was I surprised! One minute he's on his belly and the next, he's up! He has not repeated this act yet, as I suppose there hasn't been motivation to do so.

Okay everyone! Next week, Dan and Sandy come to town.  We will be excited for Ry Ry to play with his grandparents for a few days.  Maybe they will babysit?!

Love to you all,
Chantal

  1. Wow, so many milestones! I looked at this with Leo and Dawson and they really enjoyed it. After we watched a video of Ryan, they wanted to watch more baby YouTube videos :)
