Ryan - Taking Steps

Look at me! I am taking steps! So fun!

As we all know, Ryan took his first steps on Thursday, May 12th.  No prompting necessary - he surprised us both by just toddling over to me at playgroup.  He now seems to think taking steps is a game and not a mode of transport-yet.  I am sure it will click for him soon, and I will have to get my running shoes on! As promised, here is video of Ryan practicing with Daddy when he got home from work on Thursday night.

Video #1:  If you have Facebook, you have seen this one.
These are the first ones he took to Daddy on video.

Video #2:  After just a few minutes, Ry was a "walking" machine.

Walking to my Dad...and checking out the camera
(actually Mommy - behind the camera).

Hooray! I did it!

Special Edition - Mother's Day

Ry at the Ritz...a pretty darn good boy if I do say so myself!

Hi Everyone! Had a wonderful FIRST Mother's Day today.  Dave got us breakfast then allowed me to do my own thing this morning, which was a trip to the gardening department at Home Depot and then off to Pikes for a few more flowers not at the Depot.  I planted most of the morning through early-afternoon, but I couldn't wait to hang with my son.  (Daddy was going to go biking when I finished up, and he did).

It was great to know we had reservations at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead for dinner. Even though I spent several hours away from my boys earlier in the day, I was okay knowing we would have a nice dinner together. And, when I say NICE dinner...I mean OUTSTANDING dinner.  I was wondering if the 5pm "brunch" reservation was worth the price - and I must say the buffet was amazing -  tall ice sculptures, beautifully detailed, delicious food, & a terrific wait staff. I felt really special being treated to such an incredible meal just one year into the job.  I did miss my Mom and Nanny tons, and I really wish they were there with us. I kept tearing up and felt very, very blessed to be there to celebrate my first Mother's Day.

Well, I go on and on...the real reason you are here is that I am raising my gorgeous little boy who almost always looks at me with such delight (the same way I look at him!) Cute little guy - he is a biter though - and he smiles after he does it. Little imp.  So, watch out!

Still need to upload the video of Ryan chatting away, but I do have one adorable video of Ryan pushing his friend and our neighbor's 17 month old son, Finn, on his Thomas the Tank Engine on Friday evening.

Enjoy the cuteness:

Finally, just to brag...when we finished dinner at The Ritz this evening - this very nice looking woman came up to me when Dave took Ryan out, and I was finishing up to leave. (Ry was antsy after being there an hour and 15 minutes).  The woman said that she hoped we were having more children because our son was the "cutest little porkchop" she had ever seen. Awwwwww! Music to a Momma's Ears. Well, maybe not the porkchop part, but how cool is it for someone to tell you to go ahead and have more kids because yours is so cute!

Love and hugs,
One Blessed Momma

Ryan - cuter than ever

Ryan at 11 months old with BB (Birthday Bunny)

We haven't taken a picture on our camera in WEEKS, so this is Ryan's 11 month pic from Dave's cell phone!!  Our camera's battery charger is missing, and the battery is dead.  We hope the charger turns up before Ryan's 1st birthday. Wouldn't want to miss those pictures!!!

We do have VIDEO! Whoo-hoo! I will give a little background and then you can see Ryan for yourself.

Video #1:  Ryan had just had avocado for dinner, and I think black beans.  He was a mess!! So, we videoed it.

Video #2:  I LOVE this video. I took the camera out to get pics of Ryan cruising around and manuevering his push walker, and for some reason, he would stop, look at the camera, and just clap. It is SO adorable. He did it like 5 times. At the end of the 2 minute video, he crawls to me.  You can see that he crawls very well now.

Video #3:  Ryan is always getting into things.  His latest move - yesterday morning - has prompted us to take a trip to buy more baby gates this weekend.  Anyway, I had forgotten about my morning coffee (thankfully, cold) on a table, and he knocked it over.  It got everywhere - table, floor, wall, chair, and RYAN! I had to strip him down and then threw in a load of laundry, so his outfit didn't stain.  Here is the adorable aftermath with Captain Chaos.

I have another great video taken the day before yesterday - Ryan can be quite a chatterbox now.  In this two minute clip, I interview Ryan, and he chats.  He has really great intonation.  I tried uploading twice this evening...no luck. I will post it in a separate blog as soon as I can.

Good night everyone and Enjoy our Superguy - almost a 1-year old superguy in 3 weeks!
